MacMall is Selling ".Mac" Services!
Get this:
I have a very good friend in sales at MacMall. He was just trained yesterday on a new Apple product. It's called-you guessed it: ".Mac"!
Apple is letting third-party vendors SELL the ".Mac" package! No Shlt! It's an actual product with a SKU #. Call MacMall and ask em! My rep said he can sell me the $99 yearly subscription service for $85.00 (a better deal than Apple's price if you guys are interested in a new account). However, MacMall is NOT allowed to sell the renewal package ($49.99).
Therefore:
Sounds like Apple *won't* lower the $99.00 price at this point in time if they have already made sales arrangments with partners in the channels such as MacMall.

dstranathan, this isn't major news. Most of us have known it's an actual boxed product for a while now. It's even an option when you order any new Mac from the Apple Store...

Are they on sale yet? Because the Apple Store doesn't have it.
Good maybe we can pirate it.
