iBook Apple Mod

in General Discussion edited January 2014
I havn't seen too many people changing the look of the Apple recently and I was bored so I did it. Here's some pics.

Here's what it looks like when the iBook is on while it's in a lit room:

Here's what it looks like when the iBook is off:

Here's what it looks like when the iBook is on in the dark:

I'm thinking I will leave it like it is, but if I can come up with something a little more interesting I will change it again.

    nope, I used Photoshop to make a 2.25" x 2" color square with a green bar on top and a red block on bottom, then printed it on Transparency film.

    I'm going to add some detail to it and see how that goes. (veins in the leaf and higlights in the Apple) I'll post pics if it's cool.

    My favorite one is the original six-color Apple logo someone did to their iBook.

    Wait! You forgot to show us what it looks like when it is off and dark.. Wait... J/k of course. If I ever get an iBook, I am pretty sure I will heavily mod it, and will not hesitate to show some pics of it here. But don't expect that to be anytime soon....

    ok so the realistic Apple one looked like crap, mainly because I'm impatient

    But here's two more I did, I stuck with the blue one and it's now living in my iBook until I decide to change it.

    Blue Fade:

    Jaguar: :cool:

    I want a holographic projector coming out of the Apple, so when it closed, i can see vizualizations <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

    Did you also take off the sheathing/paper/whatever that dims the backlight a bit, out of curiosity?

    The Jaguar looks great, I'd love that. I don't know about the blue gradient though... then again, I have a weird thing about plain gradients (hate em).

    I'd probably make mine bright red. If I had an iBook, that is. Or else the jagwire. Or maybe something funny like Clarus or the Mac "Hello." words. Oh, I don't know.

    After seeing those pics I decided to mod my ibook. so here it is

    --click here--&gt; <a href="http://birish.home.mchsi.com/screenshots/ibookmod.jpg"; target="_blank">http://birish.home.mchsi.com/screenshots/ibookmod.jpg</a>;

    Also one other thing did you have problems with the screws I find the screws to be junk after you take them out a few times. I am going to order new screws for my ibook just to have them incase I change out what I currently have. I used standard printer paper for mine and it works well I don't have any night shots yet but I will get them soon. If any of you know of a sit where I could pick up some replacement screws for the furture when I decide to change my Apple colors please post them.

    I also found this cool iBook mod called the TronBook --click this--&gt; <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/icruise1/tronbook.htm"; target="_blank">http://homepage.mac.com/icruise1/tronbook.htm</a>;

    That blue fade and the Jaguar look really cool!!

    I have always thought when Apple release a Bluetooth enabled TiBook that the Apple would be Blue, to signify the Bluetooth.... It would look good anyhow!

    I've taken the screws out and the only thing I can think of is to remove the blue crap that is in the threads, then they should be fine.

    As for the paper diffuser, no I didn't remove it.
