2 SwitchARoos for me

Over the past 3 weeks, 2 co-workers have bought iMacs. Both people were windows folks. The really cool thing was that neither of the people bombarded me with "MHZ Myth" type questions. They selected the iMacs on merit, not hype.

I have gotten one person to the point where they are committed to buying a Mac the next time they make a computer purchase, and yes mostly for the OS. He likes the design of the computers as well.

Well... I know of 3 people that5 have "switched" indirectly because of me... i mean they asked me for help and such, but i wasn't pushing the issue...

as for pushing the issue, i have convinced 1 person (my cousin--but he is yet to buy... we'll see) and am in a discussion with a few more... they are trying to decide on a system for college... at the very least I want to steer them away from a dell no but seriously... a friend of mine is looking to spend $2000 on a computer... and the only "great" feature it has is a 2.4 gig P4.... now thats great and all... but it doesnt even come with a DVD rom drive, or monitor.... and an iMac would cost less (15") and come with better specs..... (DVD-R, 15" screen, LCD... etc...)

gimme a few days... i'll work him down...

I've been responsible for a few 'damn near thinking about switchings' due to the ubercool Book of i, but no confirmed kills. Yet.

Reminds me of those "infect truth" anti-drug ads. Personally many of my friends have gone from Mac-ignorant to at the very least Mac aware (and in many cases, envious and thinking about switching). Like you, no kills yet, but as one of my friends now understands Macs much more, he's not very tolerant of other people saying "I hate Macs" unjustifiably and will take it upon himself to teach them the error of their ways. I've long since given this up and generally just let the hardware (I've got a Cube, and it still draws ooh's and aah's from confused/fascinated passersby) and the OS speak for themselves.

    eh?

no kills yet...your lingo needs a rethinko

    windows pcs kill

    mac os is the savior!

In the past 3 years I think I've converted(directly and indirectly) about 8 people....and I've made about 8 others more mac aware and finally I've confirmed that some people just don't want to change their windows loving mac hating attitudes(which irks me the most...cause very few mac users I know hate windows the same way windows users hate macs)

I don't personally hate windows...its just not for me, I can't get anything done on it, and 70% of the time I become so frustrated with crashes and the likes.:mad..well..:mad.you get the idea

Apple seems to be hitting well with their switch campaign...though I've been reading mixed reviews online and around....its a pretty well executed plan...and Apples retail stores are buzzing more freqently because of it.

but I digress...good job on switching some people, although I believe in free will and choice(not peer pressure , too many people don't even give macs a chance...and thats not right.
