<strong>Steve Jobs makes a shitload of money
 </strong><hr></blockquote>
yeha i know... what ever happened to $1 a year?
maybe the bonus was just the jet converted into cash? still $40 mil is a lor of dough
most of his payback comes in other categories (options/bonus/etc)
and don't forget, he still has pixar.
bill's salary was $400k.
most of his payback is ignoring the impotent shrieking wrath of users facing BSOD
but check out the wallet of MS COO Belluzzo
$ 136 Million in options? talk about corp greed!
<hmmm, aren't COO's usually ex-andersenconsulting accountants>

I'll vote YES to every one of them.

Example: Shouldn't the price of the Gulfstream fall under "other compensation" for Jobs? That was 90 million dollars worth of plane (after taxes.)
I wonder what kind of "other compensation" everybody else on the executive team of Apple and Microsoft get.

<strong>I find it funny that Apple posted a profit of $43 million in the second quater of 2001. It's almost like they said, 'well, we've had a good year and made some money...let's give Steve all of it" </strong><hr></blockquote>
I read somewhere that the top execs are paid in share options, the value of which isn't taken into account when calculating the company profit. If you do take the value of these share options into account, Apple made a significant loss.
<strong>Thats only for 2001. I doubt many of these guys will be receiving a bonus this year with the way sales have been going.</strong><hr></blockquote>
I doubt your doubt. The days when officer bonuses were tied to performance are done and gone. Bonuses are now an expected part of their yearly income.
If the bonus is tied to performance somehow (to placate shareholders), you can bet that the required performance level will be very. very low. Along the lines of, "Did the guy show up at the meetings and try to make a profit?"
Somebody please prove me wrong.
Can somebody make me know Steve? <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />
.. or some other Apples .. i don't like men who everybody describes with words 'micro' and 'soft' ...
