City wide wireless acess-who would'nt want it...Yummy
Does any one out there think that wireless access could eventualy
go to city and county wide. Just as FM and AM broadcasting is today. Its
got to happpen someday. Maybe it wishfull thinking, but there is already an underground of WiFi pirater's out there building wireless
access nodes in small sections of a city. i read an artical in a computer techonlogy zine about how these pirate wireless node are running off of
a laptop, a wireless router , WiFi card and a homemade antenna made out of a pringles can. Supposedly if someone were to go to central park
in NYCity with a laptop and a wireless card you can hop right on to a
pirated wireless stream.
The possiblities would be vast when an entire city is wirelessly linked with the world. city, state, goverment, hacker etc...
The technology is there, almost, even radio stations could benifit .
Fear will be the bigest hurdle.
There must some web sites out there with info on the current developments..just have'nt had a chance to search....maybe some one
can help and provide links for everyone in Mac land....thanx....
