Adobe Creative Cloud, is awful/unusable
I just wanted to make some of you aware of some of the caveats if you get an offer for Adobe Creative Cloud and think of signing up. Things are really bad now. I will explain very quickly:
Basic Mac backup workflows are now nearly impossible to do and maintain using Super Duper or Carbon Copy Cloner.
The only way you can do a restore from backup safely without messing up your installation and your system is this:
If you do a complete FULL update and get all of your registrations and other files in sync and updated, then turn off ANY and ALL updating.
Do a backup, you MIGHT get lucky in a day or up to a week to restore from that backup. But if DON'T rely on this.
The other workflow, is to have Creative Cloud updating on it's own, every day or so. But if you do updates intermingled with say Carbon Copy Cloning, FORGET IT, one mismatch of an app and "BLAMO" corruption with updating and registration. You will not be able to RESTORE from your backup hard drive, nicely. You will most likely have to uninstall all Creative Cloud and then MAYBE you might get to be able to reinstall and get your normal operating procedures working, such as updates and all apps launching.
Creative Suite 6 is fine, clone backup update restore whatever, the backup workflows are fine.

Affinity Designer.
Manga Studio.
Painter 10+
Procreate on iPad.
I have four of that list. Impressive performers.
Take your pick.
Lemon Bon Bon.
I know there's a lot of hate out there for Quark, as they were difficult to deal with at the height of their reign two decades ago.
But I'd rather not get on the CC treadmill, and I have Affinity Photo already. If Quark 2016 > InDesign CS6, I'm looking to move over.
Hopefully, the Mac press will give us a good update to the old "InDesign/Pagemaker vs Quark" shootouts we used to see in the old days.
