Lindows is an awsome idea but i don't think it will be all that great expecially since you basicly need a broadband connection for the OS it self.

My e-mail to the webmaster , customer service, and the legal dept of Lindows:

"Ever thought of designing an ORIGINAL interface? I guess Lindows is like everyone else in the industry, and would rather STEAL it from Apple than invent in on their own...

What an (awful) blatant rip off of Windows 2000! Only, the Lindows GUI is ugly, inconsistent and looks thrown together. Not that Windows 2000 is pretty, but it's at least neat and well organized.

The start menu, the dialogue boxes, the buttons, it's all Windows 2000 but in an awkward ugly way. If you're going to make an alternative OS - be a little creative! Then to have the balls to build a website by poorly copying Apple's site? I mean REALLY now.

If I were Microsoft, I'd sue them in an instant (if nothing else, it will exhaust some of their funds). With the stability, GUI, multimedia and plug and play of XP - who the hell is going to buy 'Lindows' for $100?

    What's next, HAC OS X?

I heard its just a regular linux distro with wine and some office file converters and stuff, I beleive the desktop is just KDE customized a bit, and most of the linux window mangers seem to jsut copy off ms (and a tiny bit off apple) but its mostly very much like windows and very ugly.

Their website wasn't always an Apple.com ripoff, it used to be different about six months ago. But still, it is a pretty poor design. Blue tabs?
