I've noticed that Apple over the years has hired alot of "name" talent. I would like, with your help, to list these individuals out in one thread. Let's name the Developer and their area of expertise. Any help you all can do is appreciated.

I'll go first.

Doug Wyatt- known as the Father of OMS. Has been working for Apple since the demise of Opcode. A key Architect of Core Midi and maybe parts of Core Audio as well.

James McCartneyAuthor of <a href="http://www.audiosynth.com/"; target="_blank">Supercollider</a> . Another Maverick in Audio working for Apple. He also will be working on Core Audio.

Stuart Cheshire- This guy KNOWS Networking and he's now an Apple Employee. Check out his <a href="http://www.stuartcheshire.org/"; target="_blank">Web Site</a> for a list of his work and Education. Great pick up for Apple IMO. Rendezvous is his baby.

I know there's plenty more. Please chime in if you can. I believe these are great signs from Apple. The best talent should create the best work.

I thought they hired someone from BeOS, can't remember who. Maybe someone else can. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    Really? That would be interesting.

Dough Hyatt- Head Programmer of Chimera. Haven't found out too much about what he's at Apple to accomplish. It's interesting nonetheless. What plans does Apple have to use a Brower Guru? Very interesting hire to say the least.

Jordon Hubbard, - Developer hired from the BSD Core Team. Jaguars BSD core might just be massaged by this guys and other engineers of course.

I'm also hoping to see what employees Apple has picked up from failed companies.

Is there a Global Apple Employee list somewhere?

Not while Be was still in buisness, but a guy who had worked on the file system. Just about four months ago, I think.

the guy from Be was in charge of the Be File System I think. Or that was one of his main things.

What about the 'apple script' guy?

btw, there is no global directory PUBLICLY available. That would be insane.

Already Jobs has decreed that no names of people should be in any Apple software nor hardware as to fears of them getting brain drained. This was years ago. Fat chance on finding a public directory

Zo yeah that dawned on me what a stupid comment that was. No company wants to created a "cherry picking" list for other companies.
