Earlier this week I scored what I think were some good deals on some Macs.

I got:

1 Power Mac 9600/300 @ $17

1 AppleVision 1710 AV @ $1

1 Apple 15? AV @ $1

2 Power Mac 5500/225 @ $1 each

2 LaserWriter 16/600 @ $1 each

1 LaserWriter Pro 630 @ $1

1 LaserWriter 4/600 @ $1

1 Apple Color OneScanner @ $1

I got some other odds and ends but these are the best of them. I don?t think I made out so badly, what do all of you think?

Sure, you got it at next to nothing, but it's still not good for anything...

Maybe to you new school young-uns, but I still appreciate the Mac hardware made when Macs were the king of the hill computers.

They better have been king of the hill. Those computers that you bought were priced rediculously high back when they were considered fast.

Pretty nice... 4 laser printers @ $1 each? No way to beat that. I still have an old Laserwriter Select 360 hooked up to a Quadra 660AV, still working great.

The one Laserwriter 16/600 has only 2400 prints on it. Its projected minimum print life is 450,000. Plus they have TCP/IP printing. They can stand on my network by themselves and my PCs and Macs can all print to them simultaneously. They print 12 ppm at 600 dpi and support Postscript Level 2 PCL5. They have a 33MHz CPU and 32MB RAM. Show me a printer with all these feature for under $250 and I will be surprised.

As opposed to when? A quick check on ibuyer.net shows remans at $39 and new around $65. The toner is HP model #92298A.

The logic boards are Apple's, but the rest of the guts were made by HP.
