Forced Password Update

in iCloud
Well, this was a surprise today. . . .
I wanted to log into iCloud via Browser from work to view an e-mail on a screen bigger than my iPhone (27" vs. 3.5") - So I logged into iCloud as I usually do.  Got hit with the MFA, which wasn't really working before. . .
NOTE:  I updated from 10.10.5 -> 10.11.5 last week and this is the first time accessing personal iCloud from Work CPU. . .
WELL. . . . I logged in using saved credentials and get hit with a "you must change your password" dialog box.  And there's no way around it. IF you cancel this, you go back to the login screen. . . .
Anyone run into this "force update" issue??

I can't change the "master" password, I'll be spending the next 2 weeks updating this allover the place.  Did Apple get hacked????  I find this rather disturbing since, as I said, I have 6 devices and some other accounts that rely in this setup for access. . . .  Developer accounts, etc.  BAD APPLE!!!
Now maybe this is due to El Capitan???  If so, we going to be hit again for macOS Sierra???????
BAD APPLE!! BAD APPLE!!!!
