Buying advise for new towermacs!
Ok. I want to be one of the first to post my questions for buying a new powermac!
I need a desktop machine to compliment my new iBook!
I plan to use the machines for photoshop work on hi-res photos and play around with video editing. Which would be better for the money, a decked out 17 inch imac with a lot of ram (say, 1GB), or a "low" end tower, say dual 867 with superdrive?
Follow up question: is it worth it to pay the extra money for the dual gig with 167 mhz system bus? What is the real impact of the better system bus? Is the Radeon 9000 worth the extra money?
I guess what I'm really asking is: would it be better to buy an imac and hold tight for the BIG powermac revision coming over the next few years, or go with a dualie now and wait a LONG time for a new desktop (or sell on ebay in a year or two).
