RunKeeper, Snapchat updated to better utilize iOS and Apple Watch features

New updates released Tuesday RunKeeper and Snapchat bring a host of improvements like enhanced Apple Watch connectivity for the fitness app and "Low Power Mode" energy conservation techniques for the secure communications utility.




Popular iOS app RunKeeper has been updated to version 7.1, with the latest iteration adding improved connectivity and enhancements associated with the Apple Watch to help users successfully save activities.

The release also includes a variety of "advancements" Runkeeper says will improve the overall user experience.

Runkeeper version 7.1 is available for free from the App Store. It requires 62.2MB of storage space, and iOS 8 or newer.

Snapchat was also updated Tuesday. Apple's Low Power Mode is now respected by version 9.37.0.0, with the app itself reducing battery usage in an unspecified manner when the device is low on power.

Snapchat app is also free. It takes 96.1MB of device storage, and requires iOS 8 or newer as well.
