I'm having a strange issue with the Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2 via the Mac App Store. I've downloaded and installed the update 3 times since it was available but it's still showing as available. 2012 MBA 13", OS 10.11.6, 4G. Any thoughts? Thanks.

the problem is is with your HD... specifically the partitions.
Ever messed around with renaming partitions, Bootcamp, anything like that?
In order to install the firmware, the computer needs to have a present and working recovery partition. If there's anything wrong with the recovery partition, it won't get installed, which is why it pops up again as a new update.
Solution? Fix/reinstall your recovery partition.
