AI Chatroom : Remember the "Arab Takeover"?

Do any of you old-timers remember the problems we had with people who were reportedly of Arab descent using the AppleInsider chat rooms back before/during the big AI blackout? There were lots of discussions about this situation at the time, lots of "turf war" events where AI members would go in and try to chase them out of the chat room.



Just wondering if anybody else remembers that whole incident. It could have just been kids playing, but I just now remembered it and thought I'd mention it to the crowd.

    Yeah, sure do. I brought it up in a thread late last year, because I thought it was an eerie coincidence. Everyone told me to shut up.







    But they were saying some pretty harsh, "die Americans!" kind of things.



    Again, probably just kids joking or being silly. Someone here suggested possibly sending the transcripts to the FBI, "just in case".

    I was never in the chat room when it happened but I sure remember it and reading what the "Arabs" said.

    I remember being in the chat room when hell was breaking loose..



    but that really makes me an OLDTIMER?!

    LOL that was hillllllarious



    I was in the room with some other people when someone said "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US" and one of the Arab guys replied something like "Do not speak of Saddam this way! He shall kill the USA!"



    It was something like that.. I was at work and I was laughing so much.



    I even took some screenshots but have since missplaced them.



    *sigh* those were the days

    You know...It does make you wonder...Heh. I don't remember fully, but the site it was linked from seemed harmless. It was for some Arab pop idol or something. Memory's hazy. They kept trying to tell us it was an Arab chatroom.
