[quote]The suggested retail price for the software is $129 for a single user. A single-residence, five-user package is priced at $199. In an unannounced promotion, Apple will offer Mac OS X 10.2 buyers who pay full price 10 percent off anything else in the store.

Does this mean you could buy Jaguar and then get a computer for 10% off?

It's more than likely they are referring to a $25 off $249 purchase coupon.

Ah, got it. That makes more sense. Okay, mods can lock this.

Has the 5 pack for $199 been officially announced yet? If so, where can I order it? I couldn't find it at the Apple online store...

Go to the Apple Online store, and enter "OS X" in the search box on the right. You'll get a list of computers, further down is software, and you should see the family pack version after the single user version.

They ran out of 5-packs after about 5 minutes at the Palo Alto Apple Store. Oh, and the article was right. 10% off everything in the store if you buy a computer or Jaguar. That's simply fantastic especially if you live in state's with little or no sales tax. 8.25% in my county hurts.

There were reports of full price payers in the MacAch buying dual 867's w/10% off. I guess they couldn't pass the deal up.

As Einstein said: "Everything is relative". VAT is 16% here .... THAT hurts. And there are probably other countries with even higher tax rates ...

Hmmmm, just to make sure this got covered, they DID give 10% off of hardware during the Apple Store event, and at the Lenox store I know that they had a table in the back with older stuff they were trying to get rid of for 20% off. And interestingly, 10.2 was also marked at 10% on my bill....there was some debate as to whether the OS was also marked down for the event.

None of this should apply after the events though....
