Voulez vous BOOT-ez avec moi? (classic vs. X)

So, this is in fact a poll, for it would be nice to know how many people in AI are booting still in 9 (or even 8 --.... 7???) and how many have become exclusive X-Men.

As for myself:

classic: 1 (Beige desktop G3 266 Mhz)

osx: 1 (iBook 600, 14.1")

Let the census begin...

my performa 6400 boots into OS 8.6, but that is only because it won't take X.

my iMac DV has Jaguar installed as the sole operating system.

EmAn, you'd think that, with thAt post count, you would at least have gotten some nice dual gigger G4 from the nice folks at AI. A token of recognition so to say.

I have 6 Macs ranging from OS 7 to 9.2.2. Three of my computers can support OS X, but I have no plans to upgrade. (I will loose features that I need.) If I get another computer, 1) it will come with OSX, but I will probably use OS 9.

All my applications use OS 9. I am a true believer that OLD applications are better than new ones. For Example, I use Microsoft Word 5.1. It is an awesome program because it is fast and stable. (It has crashed 2X ever since I got it 6+ years ago) I don't need a Word processor to make HTML pages! <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" /> I use a HTML editor for that! There is no Copyright/Digital Rights management crap in MacAMP 1.0. I wonder how long it will take before iTunes will have DRM checking installed; it's heading that way... And speaking of DRM, OS 9 will not be under the influence of Record companies because apple is no longer supporting OS 9. When OS XII checks the files you download and removes all copyright materials, you will be crawling back to your Performas, Quadras, and G3's. Muhahaha <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

Just kidding, folks. But I will buy OS XI. Most of the bugs will be worked out and hopefully more stuff (Printers, Scanners, SCSI...) will be supported. 'til then, Rock on OS 9

OS X? My Mac SE/30 is still running 7.1. I want to fully optimize my massive 32 megs.

The main machines we still use daily run the following:

    Umax c600@240mhz : Mac OS 9.1

    Powerbook500: Mac OS 10.2

    PowermacG4@450: Mac OS 10.2

I absolutely love 10.2. I was probably one of the first ones to complain about the cost and I liked it so much I forked over my cash to upgrade. It is a dream compared to WinXP.

I installed Jag on my Cube on the day of release, and haven't booted into anything else since (previously it was 9.2.2, which is still there for Classic and is backed up on a HD round here somewhere).

My ancient Power Mac 5200 CD is running 8.6, but that lives with my mother now.

Power Mac G4 dual 500: always in Mac OS X, currently 10.2.

Power Mac 8600/250: Mac OS 9.1. Although, I've repeatedly tried with XPostFacto to get OSX on it, it's never worked properly. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />
