Pixels .....slowly...... dying on Powerbook
anyone run into this before? when i first got my PB about a month ago, there were 0 dead pixels, and one stuck pixel in the lower center. however, the screen had a weird lighter band on the bottom two inches or so. didn't think much of it and kep working happily along.
then i noticed the other day i had a dead pixel. hmm, strange, but i could have missed it before, after all it was only ONE little pixel.
over the course of the last few days though i've now lost another two pixels, bringing my grand total up to 3 dead pixels. all are along the bottom edge, near the bottom of the dock in fact, and so aren't really in my way.
however, i'd like to know if this is going to continue and i'm likely to keep losing pixels, and if anyone else has ever run into this before.
thanks in advance.

(not sure if this was GB material or not, but figured i'm not really asking for help, just want to know if others have seen this at all, so went GD instead.)

I've heard that can sometimes revive them.
I don't know how common it is for pixels to die like that, though.
No, don't do that. But if it dose get any worse it should be fixed for you.
What you need to do is open up your PB up and grap the right side or the screen with your right hand and the left side with your left hand. Then.... BEAT IT AGINST YOUR FOREHEAD!!!! Next, call Apple up and ask for an RMA.

LOL good one.... try cleaning it lightly that usually clears it up.. I have had to do that for my iBook
hadn't seen this before, but for some reason, whenever and app is launched the little black triangle shows up underneath it like normal. however, now when i quit an app, 1 pixel remains pitch black, and appears to be dead.
when i restarted though, it came back to life.
thing was i hadn't restarted in days, and a lot of the apps run all the time, so i only noticed on those few that i started up then quit. funny really. oh well, false alarm.
actually, turns it it was a funky new "feature" of 10.2

Heh, it's not a bug; it's a feature!
Actually, the little black dot you refer to also sometimes would get stuck in 10.1 also. You don't need to restart the whole computer. Just log out and back in or simply kill the Dock process (it will automatically relaunch when killed).
/me knocking on wood vigorously.
