NEXT...a first

i know this is apple insider but apple and NEXT always seemed close to me...probably because of jobs.



What are some thigns that NEXT invented that are used now days.

    Well, they made a cube shaped computer called the NeXT Cube...Apple made the G4 Cube.



    I know NeXT made software that is seen in different froms today, I just do not know too much about it.

    Ahem. Cocoa? The Dock? Half of OS X is from Nextstep.

    That would be OpenStep, basically Cocoa without the Java. But didn't they have some sort of enterprise system somewhere between WebObjects (which is also theirs) and OpenStep, something about EOF or EOL? Their e-mail app was considered top-notch, allowing voice and video e-mail for whatever that was worth at the time.



    The WWW protocol was created using NeXT stuff.



    Let's not forget the death of the floppy!
