Who wants to go to China with me?

Wouldn?t it be interesting to go down to one of the Apple plants in China and see what they are making at this time?

How come there is no inside info of someone who went on vacation to China and saw what Apple was really up to?

Would they see the new powermac and the stoppage of the old powermac?

Would they see beautiful seventeen inch displays being mounted on the new imac?

Or would they see something entirely different?

Who wants to go to China and track down one of the workers and see what was really in the works?

One more question. How do they keep this all a big secret when they have underpaid people assembling their products. There has to be some way to access the mind of one of those workers.

Sorry for the missing reply in the last post! I don't usually post too many messages.

Well, I just happened to have arrived in Shanghai, China on the 6th of July. I visit China about every year or sometimes twice a year and hope to start a business here on this visit. Anyway, if you can give me the location of the manufacturing facility for Apple, I will be glad to make an attempt to visit and find what I can find. I was in Shanghai last July and went to a store that may or may not have been a "Apple" retail store but they had all the nice Apple Logos. I can visit the two places I know that sell Apple computers and find out some informaiton from them. I should be able to visit one of them this weekend in downtown Shanghai at People's Square.

Also, I happen to have a friend at Inventec...not sure of the spelling. However, I know they do some manufacturing of Apple items and asked my friend if she had any inside information. She went to ask some of the people she knew working on the Apple side of the house and she said they treated her like a spy. she works in a different area and I am not sure how that organization is setup. Anyway, she told me they treated her like a spy and she thinks they were still making the PDA. I assume she was talking about the iPod because she doesn't seem to know much about Apple Computer products. I never pushed her for more informaiton because she was uncomfortable asking and being made to feel like a spy..haha. Also, Inventec is not in mainland China and is actually in Tiwain. However, they may be locations in China. I am only aware of the location because my friend work their. I do have many connections in China and would love to find some contacts with Apple information. Apple computer is not so popular in China. Many people feel it is expensive or are just not exposed to the platform as they are the PC platform. Well, I like to travel around China and meet people so let me know the location and I will ask around.

I'm now in China and i'm doing my internship at Founder, the largest distributor for apple computers in China. I have been told that there are things going on in certain factories here but that's about all I know for the moment. I'll try to get more info.

    <img src="graemlins/surprised.gif" border="0" alt="[Surprised]" /> For gods sake don't! <img src="graemlins/surprised.gif" border="0" alt="[Surprised]" />

If you did, even if you weren't caught, Apple would find out where the leak came from and Apple would tighten security even further.

I'm guessing security makes the work at those factories pretty terrible right now, there fore expensive for Apple, therefore expensive for us.

Rumoring and speculating is one thing, actually breaking into an Apple factory is way out. It's bad.
