You don't. It's a copyrighted font that is NOT in the public domain.

You can either buy it or pirate it...

Well, buying it is the only alternative to stealing it. Contact Apple or Adobe and for the right price they will probably let you have it.

Of course, the "right price" could be an exorbitant amount of money...

I remember something about it being posted on ADC at one time or something...

    Not sure though...

[EDIT: MacNN uses the font for non-malicious purposes...I doubt Apple let them have it, and I doubt Apple is on their back about it either. So in short...just don't use it for anything anti-Apple and you *should* be okay...not a guarantee from me/AppleInsider/Apple just a thought. But I wouldn't use it for anything non-Apple related either.]

If you have Mac OS X, The Apple Garmond font is already installed on the system, although pretty well hidden,

It is located in /System/Library/CoreServices and it is called "Setup Assistant.dfont"

Rename it, install it and your set

Just look in the Package Contents for the Setup Assistant.

    Nice trick--glad to have that.

Hmm! It's funny Apple would let something like this slip.

Ah, no matter. Apple is transitioning away from Garamond to Myriad for almost all logos and product names anyway. Fortunately, though, you can purchase Myriad directly from Adobe at a fairly reasonable price.

    Or you can pirate it...

Are you absolutely positive it is Apple Garamond? Adobe Garamond looks quite similar, as do a handful of variations.

If you're doing web-images, standard Garamond rasterized and then vertically stretched looks surprisingly close to Apple Garamond...
