9.7" iPad Pro or 10.5" ?

Hey Guys,

I am in a dilemma, ever since I was introduced to the iPad its size 9.7" has appealed so much to me that it has stuck on to me. I am kind of hung on to it. 9.7" is the perfect size not too small, not too large, and large enough to have a full, big screen experience. But with the 10.5" Apple has broken that sweet spot. I am a little too worried that the 10.5" size would be a bit bulky and difficult to handle in terms of compactness and portability. The 10.5" is also slightly heavier in weight when compared to the 9.7" iPad Pro. What do you guys think should I take the plunge for 10.5"? Or should I buy the 9.7" iPad Pro ?

If size is of such concern, I would say stay with the 9.7" model. Personally I find them both very large for my own use. I am sure though that other users are very happy with such nice iPads.

I have always liked the 9.7" inch size, but that 120Mhz refresh rate has me a little interested, that's pretty sweet.

the 10.5 is only .2" wider and .4" longer. It's not drastically larger than the 9.7 and nowhere near as large as the 12.9 pro. Additionally, the weight is the close to the same between the 9.7 and 10.5, with the 10.5 being slightly heavier.

I'll be going for the 10.5 myself.

The 10.5" iPad Pro has a larger footprint when compared to the 9.7" I am looking at the Wifi+Cellular model and the weight for this for the 9.7" was 444 grams whereas the weight for 10.5" is 477 grams so it is a difference of 33 Grams between the two models.

The 10.5" is actually still the same size casing as the 9.7 inch iPad Pro, the bezel around the screen is just a bit smaller so that you get more screen real estate, and the weight is similar to what a iPad Air 2 weighs, pretty sweet design, same size just bigger viewing area. What will make it even better is when iOS 11 releases this fall.

No, the 10.5" iPad is larger than the 9.7" Pro, though not by much.

Seems like you've answered your own question. Unless you plan on doing things that require the larger iPad (art or illustration, detail work that needs the larger screen size, writing for a living, etc.), then the smaller size will be fine.

But I also use my iPads for a couple of years and the 9.7" iPad Pro just has 2GB of RAM so a couple of years down the line when newer versions of iOS come out that could be a problem. The 10.5" iPad Pro in that sense looks a little future proof isn't it ?
