I got there at about 9:00 Indy time, an hour before it opened. The kid in front of me had counted, and including himself, there were 96 people in front of me. People kept coming as it got closer to 10. I never counted the total number there, but it had to be well over 400.
A couple guys from a local user group (Applepickers) were giving out business cards, newsletters, and even 8 $25 gift cards for the store. Apple employees came out and gave us all tickets for the drawing and pamphlets about the grand opening.
The store itself is one of the new, smaller stores. There is no theatre (I miss it) and hardly any software. I know smaller=cheaper to maintain, but they aren't near as nice as the bigger stores.
They had steady sales, but not many computers. People must think new portables are coming next week.
Overall, a great store. Grand openings aren't as big as they used to be, but it's still great to see so many people come out to support Apple.
