How about iDocks for the iPod
I've been thinking about ways to make my iPod even more useful, and I am wondering if Apple is thinking of making various docks in order to extend the funtionality of the iPod to other consumer devices.
Think about this...
an iDock for your home stereo to allow you to use your iPod on your stereo. It would need to convert the signal out to line-level, but I would doubt that this is too large of an issue through the firewire port.
an iDock for your car stereo. similar to above.
In both cases, I am thinking that the unit actually sits upside down in a cradle and hooks up via the firewire port. The iPod software recognizes that it is docked and flips the screen display 180 degrees. The controls are ambiguously symboled so that they work upside down as well.
What do you all think?
