Not that I am a great fan of his music but Robbie has some great things to say about iTunes and iPods here.

<a href="http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/top_news_item.cfm?NewsID=5558"; target="_blank">http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/top_news_item.cfm?NewsID=5558;

Hope Apple UK picks up on this as a lot of youngsters "d'un certain age' would buy based on such a recommendation.

does his name mean anything in the US?

Heh, I think the reaction most Americans would have from hearing his name would be "Don't you mean Robin Williams, that whacko comedian guy?"

Robbie Williams has never been popular in North America.

Maybe due to his style? Personality?

Woah, lads! not my intention to spark a rumble with our American cousins ( being a long time Eagles fan myself )

Fact is, he's big here and this is going to do us no harm at all.

Those few words by Robbie will probably do more for Apple than a million dollar advertising campaign in Britain, especially amongst the pubescent teens of the country.

I vaguely remember the Eagles. Weren't they a 70's band that had a one off hit with Motel Colorado, or was it Hotel South Carolina? Hmmm, that's the trouble with American bands, instantly forgettable...

Millenium was HUGE a couple of years ago. You couldn't turn on the TV or radio w/out hearing it.

Where the hell were all of you?!?!?

I remember Millenium very well, as well as Rock DJ and something or other with Angels in the title. Believe me, if they were played where I live they were played everywhere.

Honestly, they were all pretty good, I was just being a cheeky monkey.

I liked "Back For Good" back in the day, too, a very well written song for a boy band.

It not like he's unknown in the U.S. He's just SO HUGE everywhere but here, right? That's sort of strange.

Heck, if he's promoting Macs, he's cool with me, even if Noel Gallagher (my favorite current songwriter) calls him the "Fat Dancer from Take That!"

Its all good advertising, no matter who says it or whether its good news or bad, it brings the platform to the attention of a new generation of 'puter users - a lot of whom may never even have heard of a Mac.

maybe it'll drive some of 'em to look at the platform as a serious alternative to the Pee Cee which they have been subjected to for as long as they can remember.

Hell, we have the best FREE apps available on the planet and a rock solid OS, what more could you want??

I didn't think I'd slip that through without someone giving me hell!

I love Oasis tunes, and I think it's fun to follow Liam and Noel's boneheaded antics and comments, especially in the early days!

I TOTALLY understand why people are turned off by them, though. I sort of live through them the vicarious dickhead life I've always been too nice to lead myself.

They are so over in the States! People ask my favorite band and I say Oasis, I might as well be saying Johnny Hates Jazz.

    Heathen Chemistry rocks, though.
