Been messing at ebay Canada today.

*yawn*
This is another interesting one I'm checking out right now. Been trying to contact this guy since this morning, and of course he's not responding - I wanted to do a local pickup and pay in cash. Looks alright, he's got a feedback rating of 8. But if you look a little closer...
His most recent customer bought a 1GHz G4 TiBook a week ago. The auction went up at 22:27 EST, and he ended it early to sell to the high bidder at the current price... at 22:32 EST. 5 minutes. Suuuuuuure.
The second guy on his feedback list, same thing. At least they waited 10 minuted before ending that one.
And wouldn't you know it, each of the remaining people that have bought from him won their auctions with only 99 cents. He started this a little over a month ago, and now he's going on to the real people. Time to shut this guy down.

That is some impressive snooping around that you're performing.

Got an email from eBay, and I quote:
Dear Mack Buddy,
Please be advised that the following auction:
2074652326 - Apple G4 Powerbook 1GHz/1Gb/60Gb/SuperDrive++
was ended early by eBay. The auction was ended due to the account suspension of the seller.
All results for this auction are null and void.

This guy is hiding from me! ha ha
He's got a brand new PowerBook G4 listed under Laptops & Accessories > Laptops, Notebooks > Other Brands
I will crush him.</Dolph>
(yes, it does happen all the time)
Someday I want to buy an authentic murbot-preowned Mac...
Scam #2
These guys never quit. He has these two auctions both running right now, and they have different usernames but the exact same product photos. He puts the auctions up at eBay Canada, but wants Western Union payment to him in Romania.
eBay had already been notified of one of these auctions, so there are other people doing the same thing, which is nice.
I've been shutting this particular scumbag down for about 6 months. He always includes a Pro Keyboard, Pro Mouse, extra battery, AirPort Card, Power Adapter, iPod, and an AirPort Base Station. Bastard.
I also won this auction for a dual 1.25 GHz PowerMac yesterday. I think this is a hacked user ID here. The guy has a 152 rating, but his email to me after the auction lists his address as being in Valcea, Romania, and of course he wants Western Union payment. (Western Union = too bad if you don't get the product)
That's it. I'm emailing eBay a freakin' resume.
edit - I did a member info search on that hacked ID, and it's a lady in Ontario. I just left a message on her machine. How the HELL do these guys hack these IDs? Unbelievable.

from teddy bears and tea pots to PowerMacs. Suuuuure.
in any case, having someone like you around murbot really helps out the Mac community. it's nice to know that you're not (as) likely to get ripped off buying a Mac, even from e-bay because mac users watch out for each other.
so how do you get to be e-bay police again?
that looks like fun.
This lady contacted me after I got hold of her, turns out this clown hacked an unprotected mail server of some sort and got her info.
