Apple selling Apple-Branded Accessories (again)

[quote] One reader reports noticing new Apple-branded gifts/accessories at his local Apple Store. These new Apple-branded products include:

- 3 Different Pens

- Luggage Bag

- Pocket Knife

- Clock

Apple has always sold similar items at their Corporate Store in California. Also, up until recent years, they maintained an online store called AppleDesign which allowed dedicated Apple fans to order Apple-branded items over the internet.

    They said they started during the Thanksgiving event. But the Apple Store in King of Prussia has been selling the accessories since it opened in early November.

    I bought one of those fancy pens for my brother's birthday. Very nice.

    Damn...FINALLY. Jeez-louise, Apple...

    <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    I've only been saying this for a good three years (and listening to many of you tell me why it "won't work...", "isn't good for the company...", etc.).

    Kiss it.

    Seriously, how could it NOT be good? Apple only has the most loyal, diehard fans/users of ANY company - computer or otherwise - in existence. Why not satisfy their desire to outfit themselves and their house with Apple-branded goodies (tasteful, cool ones of course) AND garner yourself (Apple) a boatload of free, positive PR and advertising?

    Better late than never, I suppose.

    I still think a cool calendar would sell like hotcakes! Each month, some great "beauty shots" of awesome Apple hardware. Fender puts out a yearly calendar of their custom shop guitars and they're dramatically lit and well-photographed and have little interesting captions about them. Apple could do the same sort of thing, I believe.

    I hope this is a signal of things to come. I'd love a fleece, Apple logo pullover. And a hat! Oh, and an Aqua Apple keychain!
