I am getting a PowerBook 3400 soon that I want to use for wireless internet at my university, and I need an 802.11b card that does not require Cardbus compliance (the 3400 is only compatible with 16-bit PC cards, not 32-bit ones). Any suggestions?
I don't have any suggestions, nor do I think you will get lucky, but I thought I'd just let you know. It's a pain having a thread die with zero reply count.
Yes, that is very annoying. I asked at the www.lowendmac.com message boards but those don't get much traffic.
Anyway, what I do know is that they do exist. I just am not sure where to start looking. I'd check eBay but I don't even know what model I should look at. Finding Mac-specific stuff is bad enough, finding older Mac-specific stuff is harder.

You can even get drivers for "PC" cards:
