iBook Sleeves

I just bought new 12 inch iBook, and am interested in getting a sleeve for my new toy. I found <a href="http://store.yahoo.com/goincase/laptopsleeve.html"; target="_blank">this one</a> that looks promising.

I'm looking for a simple sleeve to put in my backpack, maybe with a pocket for the power adapter. Does anyone have a suggestion other than the one I've linked, or perhaps a review of that one?

Thanks

I don't see why anyone would buy a "sleeve" specifically designed for an iBook, that cost $40+. The iBook is about the size of a 1" notebook, you can use damn near anything. I think itwas Apple's intent to make it the size of a notebook, don't ignore it.

Office Depot has leather portfolios that open flat, and have a pocket that holds such a binder and a pad--$20 bucks. They have several other devices more & less expensive that have the same pocket. I have two: The portfolio noted above and a briefcase with a pocket for a small notebook. Both fit perfectly, and neither costing the exorbinate amounts on the Waterfield website. Also, neither look cheap nor like a laptop bag. With the money you save, you can begin buying other toys. I have many.

If you want to go real cheap, Mead, Trapper Keeper, 5 Star, etc., all have products that work; all under $5.

BTW: the service is great from this company. I emailed the company to change the color, after having ordered, and they did it no problem.

One more vote for the Waterfield iBook sleeves. They're well worth the money. I wouldn't be caught dead with an ugly leather case from one of the national office superstores. Personally, I got the horizontal sleeve, because you can see the sleep light, even though I often use it in an Eastpak backpack (and sometimes in a <a href="http://www.timbuk2.com"; target="_blank">Timbuk2</a> Sweet Pea). The advantage with a vertical sleeve is that you can access the power plug while your iBook is stowed away.

Try the sleeves from Booq: <a href="http://www.booqbags.com/ibooq.html."; target="_blank">http://www.booqbags.com/ibooq.html.</a>; Cool design, well made, and not too expensive.

Another vote for Waterfield Designs. Being Mac users, we should understand that sometimes you get what you pay for. Their sleeves fit the iBook perfectly, are well-padded without being exorbitantly wide (tough neoprene), and are quite rugged. I got one of the top-loading sleeves for slipping my iBook in & out of a backpack, and couldn't be happier. I lug my iBook back and forth to lab every day (on the bus) and fly with it once a month, and it's none the worse for wear. The Waterfield case is perfect.
