easily and automatically share secure wifi password between iOS/macOS users within close range.
I discovered a feature accidentally yesterday that other AI member may find useful.
Perhaps AI could do a video to demonstrate this.
I was sitting as the same room as my spouse. I was on a secure WPA SSID
network
for which my spouse did not have access to. She asked me to help her
log on
to this secure WPA. I took her iPhone 7+ running latest iOS and held it
next to my MBA running latest macOS,
and on her phone tried to login into the new SSID network. It prompted
on iPhone for the network password
as expected. However, the unexpected part was that my MBA gave me a pop
up, asking me if I would like to share
my password with my wife iPhone! I responded to allow the password to be shared and
my wife iPhone was immediately logged into the new secure network.
I guess this was over bluetooth? totally cool and unexpected. Very
useful for when people come over to your house
and you want to allow them onto your network. Simply get within
bluetooth range and iOS/macOS will automatically prompt you to share it.
