I noticed that when I am using my pb 1ghz for a while that it gets really hot on my wood desk. Does anyone know of any semi inexpensive solutions to the heat issue. i dont care about the fan noise of the pb. i just dont want it to get too hot.
Interesting. I have Electric Image Modeler running, as well as iTunes, Carracho, Chimera, Mail, and Acrobat.
No noticeable heat issues, and I'm in a warm room.
Mmm. Steam heat.
Anyway, there are a number of solutions that involve raising the book. You can buy a stand or a coolpad if you wish, or you can do what I do in the warmer months.
1) Go to your local convenience store. In my case it's the Wawa down the road.
2) Pick up two bottles of Powerade. If you like Gatorade, that should work too, but Powerade is better (explained soon).
3) Consume the powerade, keep the bottlecaps. The black powerade caps are nicer than the orange gatorade caps.
4) Put the caps under the feet of the PB. It's raised, and you get some powerade. Cost: 2 to 3 dollars.
Comments
there are products which prop up the back of the powerbook, making space between the bottom of your 'book and the desk
look in the Macintosh Products Guide on Apple.com, or at eshop.macsales.com
