Yup. Saw it for the first time today. Very good commercials if you ask me. I like the idea of the products actually being shown in the ads, and having a voice over instead of someone onscreen speaking.
BTW, Lapzilla actually doesn't look extreamly huge, even in the hands of mini-me.
I saw the ads too, albiet during a crummy lunch. Thought they were pretty good, even though I couldn't hear the sound. I'm glad Apple is airing more ads.
the ad is classic, i love yao ming, he's got a very deft touch with humor....but i'm sorry the best ad during the nfc game was the nike shox/naked man ad, it was brilliant.
Richard Dreyfuss is the Honda guy (BUT, he also did some work for Apple too, if I remember...).
See, it all ties together.
BTW, color me SHOCKED to see these PowerBook ads. First time I'd seen them on TV.
Again, I honestly think they make these things mainly to show on the big screen at the Macworld keynote...and then MAYBE 4-5 times later on actualy TV. If that.
The iMac ad with it sticking out it's "tongue" was shown many, many times on tv and not just at Macworld. The only "ad" that they show at MacWorlds that don't get airplay are usually the long introes with Phil Schiller and friends.

Nike's done better. The best Nike ad ever was "Move." It was 90 seconds long and nothing but a superbly cut medley of athletes doing their thing.
The second best Nike ad has got to be "Tag," where some guy taps a kid on the shoulder, then he goes chasing after everyone as they scatter through the city streets and into the subway.
Anyone know what the crowd reactiion was liked after the yao commercial was shown??
Did the crowd laugh or basically can't be bothered??

Like at a bar? Probably not. Most people barely pay attention to the TVs at sports bars long enough to catch a 30 sec commercial. At MWSF, yeah, the crowd laughed pretty hard.
Huh? I only spent one afternoon on the show floor, but the atmosphere seemed pretty upbeat, with Joey Ramone's Wonderful World blasting and what not.

i meant it as the keynote crowd usually responds favorably to anything apple shows and laughs at anything apple thinks they'll laugh at.
so not sure the keynote crowd is a good measure of the reaction a normal audience would produce
