Audio CD+R and CD+RW discs

I am new to disc burning. Am I right that all CD+R and CD+RW discs can record audio? Is there any advantage in purchasing the discs that specifically say "made for audio" (or something like that) or is that just marketing hype? In other words, is it safe to purchase any CR+R or CD+RW for burning audio onto?

Keep in mind the following: many Audio CD-players will not play CD-RW discs, and it is therefor generally advised that you don't burn audio discs on CD-RW.

CD-Rs are reasonably 'supported' by audio cd-players (although many players WILL choke if you go for ultracheap ultraflimsy discs).

Audio CD-Rs are only sold so as to cater to audio cd recorders that would fit in your hi-fi 'solution'. Some brands, notably Philips, sells these things. They are not operated through your computer, but rather directly in your stereo thing. These things do not burn to regular CD-Rs. These things are, IMHO, complete bullshit.
