Filtering Through 64 Thousand Image Files?

Posted:
in General Discussion edited January 2014
I have 64,000 JPEG images of in a directory, and I want to pull approximately 18,000 of them out [All of the images with sinngers in them]. I have a list of the filenames that I want to keep. How do I get my mac to do this filter without me having to move them by hand?

Your response is greatly apppreciated.

What OS? You can always use the find command (Command F). Or in OS X you can use the terminal if you're feeling geeky.

    Hey Aaron!

Is there any characteristics that a file with a singer in it has, i.e., size, file name, etc. that makes it different than non-singer files?

Call me, maybe I can help.

I've never used it, but you could probably use an Applescript. Been getting around to learning it, never did though.

    Thank you Chuck.

I trust that the files arrived safely. I will call you on Monday if I don't hear from you sooner.

You could do it with a terminal script. Easy. What form is this list in?
