Help me here Geforce4mx or Radeon 7500
I'm looking for a very cheap video card <$100 for a first generation G4 (2xAGP), my rage 128 is really ancient. And so I think that either of these cards would be an improvement.
I beleive both are flashible in macs, here are the links if you want a closer look

.
There are two different voltages for AGP cards... I think something like 3.3v and 5v, or maybe 3.3v and 1.5v... I just remember one of them was 3.3v.
You have to match the card's voltage with the AGP slot's voltage. The speed doesn't really matter.
Macs are simple because 1x and 8x AGP slots aren't present on any of them. There aren't any problems with putting a 4x card into a 2x slot or vice versa. I think you would have problems if you tried to put an 8x card in a 2x slot, but as far as I know all Mac cards are compatible with all Mac AGP slots.
