Interview with the creators of Homestar Runner

Whoa, what timing.



After seeing ericj551's post in <a href="http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=11&t=000393"; target="_blank">this thread</a> 2 days ago, I went and checked out the <a href="http://www.homestarrunner.com"; target="_blank">Homestar Runner</a> website. Hilarious stuff in there.



(actually, it was a link to <a href="http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail58.html"; target="_blank">Trogdor The Burninator</a> that got me going in there... check it out, it's HILARIOUS!)



So what do I see during my 9am cruise through MacSurfer? A <a href="http://www.resexcellence.com/hack_html_03/01-30-03.shtml"; target="_blank">interview</a> at Res Excellence about the site. It's a pretty good read.



I liked this little bit:





The Cheat has an iMac. He's cool.







Unfortunately they also say this:



"We built most of the site on a Windows machine and a PowerMacG4, but now we have two Windows boxes. (Don't yell at us. We still plan on being as Mac friendly as we've ever been. We're just self taught graphics people and we taught ourselves on PC so we're more efficient on them.)."



Oh well, can't bash them I guess... they do have a ton on iMacs in their cartoons.

Thanks for the link, I love Homestarrunner. And I must say, Trog Dor is some of their finest work. (Though you can't forget the genius of "Lures and Jigs")

I knew from day-one that HSR had to at least in part be made on a Mac. Not only were there several hints like The Cheat's tangerine iMac, but there are also a number of the Classic Mac OS system sounds used as sound effects in several of the shorts -- you can't miss em if you're familiar with them.







Still, good find on the interview.
