If you are a student then you can get it for $69 other than that you are SOL...pay the $129. The difference between it and 10.0 is night and day.

Come to think of it, check around. A lot of the catalogs sell it for around $99.

Well, I'd actually think the cheapest cheapest way would be to install it from somebody else's installer cds. That way you don't even have to spend a dollar or so on a bunch of cdrs, or waste bandwidth grabbing it off the 'net. It goes without saying that this is illegal, and that nobody at AppleInsider would ever dream of doing such a thing.

If you have a favorite teacher who is friendly with you, you could ask the teacher a favor... teachers can get Jaguar for free. Ask the teacher to order it from Apple and then you can just have them give it to you. Make sure you do something nice for them in return

EDIT: Of course, this assumes that the teacher has no need for Jaguar.

If there's no way you can get it at a discount then order it from one of the Mac catalogues... they usually have it for less than $129.

The teacher goes to Apple.com/education and orders the Jaguar For Teachers....

it is sent to the teacher's school, so no verification beyond that is neccesary, once that is complete, the software is shipped to the school, the teacher gets it, and it can be exchanged! <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" /> <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" /> <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" />

    this works nicely in a dark parking lot with both of you wearing trench coats and calling each other spy names..... <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[oyvey]" /> <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" />

In the USA, the site for teachers' free Jaguar copy is <a href="http://www.apple.com/education/macosxforteachers/index2.html"; target="_blank">here</a>.
