ever since i have gotten my iBook, i very rarely use my desk anymore. right now, for example, i am sitting on my bed typing...i also often sit on the couch in the living room with it while watching tv.

where are some of your favorite places to sit with your *book? when you sit with your iBook, how do you angle it? It seems I am always looking down on the screen, which sounds like an ergonomic disastor, doesn't it?

I use my TiBook almost every night in bed, doing homework, watching TV. It also gets a lot of use doubling as a mini theater when my girlfriend comes over.

On campus, I use it on the lawn a lot, especially in January when it's 85 degrees and sunny outside (I love LA weather)!!

I love my laptop, and I think it would be hard to go back to a desktop.

Right now, I'd say 50% on my desk (now that I got a couple of games--Wolfenstein and MOH--where i use my Creature Speakers and Keyboard/mouse) 40% lying on my bed, and 10% on the couch...never gets too hot on the bed, though it does get quite warm.

Most of the time I sit with my iBook at my desk only because im confined by my ethernet cable. When i get AirPort thats gonna change. I occasionally take it out to places with me.

Same as what iBook owner 2k2 said. Until I get my PowerBooklet G4! no cords will help me position my 'Book much better with more comfort for my back. Thanks Apple!

I have had Airport since I bought my PowerBook G3/500 which means that I've been able to use it from just about anywhere in my house for the last 3 years.

Generally I sit in my chair (which is a good sized recliner) where I have a good view of my television, easy access to video games, etc.

I sometimes lie on my bed with my PowerBook but it's so much easier to just sit in my chair and work. I really have no need for a desk to use my computer but that might change depending on how hot the bottom of my new 1 GHz TiBook will get.

When I'm at home, I sit in this ass-ugly orange recliner with my mini on my lap. At work, one a desk. I'm never bound by wires except in my office. Everywhere else I'm cable free, except for my headphones.

Do you have pics of this recliner? How ugly could it be, being orange and all?

On a related note, I was at a store the other day that carried things like overall, coveralls, work clothes (Dickies, mostly), jumpsuits, mechanic/industrial wear, etc.

In addition to the khaki, gray, navy blue and brown Dickies workpants, there was a pair of orange ones. Bright, prison-issue-esque in their orangeosity.

    Yeah, I'm getting a pair...
