I have the new iMac G4.

I would like to have a subwoofer and some better loudspeakers.

I have seen this offer, which is quiet expensive:

"Harman Kardon SoundSticks und iSub"?

What about your experiences?

Is there a better product with a better price/value?

In my opinion, the soundsticks are overpriced, though they do sound good and are a pretty small package. I think they sound much better than the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1, which are popular.

Really, any multimedia system from a reputable vendor is going to sound very similar. I was in your shoes not long ago, but I realized that I found it worthwhile to buy a better system for twice the cost. I'm going to buy a MAudio Sonica and some SP5B studio monitors once they go on sale. (new replacement model just came out.) They sound REALLY good, and have the midrange punch that no sub&satellite system seems to have.

The soundsticks and the isub may be expensive, but it will make your mac looks good!

And the sound is great too, though u can get cheaper alternatives elsewhere.

Well for my audio setup it's going to be like this:

    Denon AVR-1403 a/v receiver

M-Audio Revolution 7.1 PCI sound card

    Sony SA-WM40 subwoofer

    Yamaha NS-6390 bookshelf speakers

I've already got the receiver and sound card (albeit they are sitting in my room at home now!) and Im definitely gonna get that sub, just a question of the speakers. The Sony SA-WM40 is an awesome subwoofer and the fact that it can be had for as little as $120 makes it a steal. Its rated at 140W I think but sounds even louder. I am staying away from computer speakers and going with the real deal. I looked up the Yamahas when I was researchin some cheaper bookshelf speakers and these seem to be really good for only about $70-80. I was thinking of getting some JBLs but I dont have the money to spend.

If you have the included apple pro speakers adding the iSub really improves the audio performance of them at a very reasonable price

I have the SoundSticks on my G4. They work fine, and really, for playing MP3s while working they get the job done. They're unintrusive, look nice and sound acceptable.

For my real stereo, I run this setup...

I wish that was my apartment. But yes, we're all about the Disco Sauna in my humble domicile...
