I Need a New Mouse

Preferably a wireless, albeit rechargable, mouse.

I was really liking <a href="http://www.macessories.com/products/pro_mic_d1085.html"; target="_blank">this one</a>, but Eugene said that it was a piece of crap. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also, I'm in the market for a good, Mac-exclusive keyboard (not just a Windows keyboard that happens to be compatible with the Mac). Apple's Pro Keyboard is okay, I guess, but it's still $60 for just a tethered keyboard. Are there any made-for-Mac ergonomic keyboards?

See, the thing is, I have a PowerBook, and I am getting an iCurve to use my second monitor better, so I thought I should flesh out the rest of my desk.

I've got a Logitech MX700 currently enroute to me. Should get here in a couple days - I will let you know what I think when it is here.

DON'T get a Studio Mouse. It looks cool but it's severely overrated, at least the scroll pad is. When I got mine I thought that the scroll pad would be somewhat like a laptop's touchpad, but just for scrolling. Nope. You have to press down really hard to get it to work. Even when it does work, you don't have nearly the range of motion you get from a scroll wheel. With a wheel, I can move the entire length of my finger along it, allowing for a very long distance in one scroll. But the Studio Mouse is limited.

I'd suggest the MX700 if you want a wireless mouse. I have one (just got it a few days ago) and it's really awesome! It took a few hours to get used to the tracking, which seemed a bit "floaty" at first, but now it's fast, smooth, and precise. Feels great in my hand too.

You don't want anything besides the Logitech MX700!

I second the Logitech MX700. mmmmm 8 buttons that you can't hit by accident.

I've tested just about all of them. Including the Kensigton which looks nice but the rubber edge gets stained a dirty-smudgy black after use and ceases to look good. Its virtual scroll wheel drove me nuts. I have the MX500 & MX700 connected right now. The logitech panel recognizes each separtely. The MX700 only stays charge a couple of days and I always forget to recharge it, hence I use the MX500 most of the time. I love their ergonomics. If you get the MX700, you'll most likely have to keep a spare mouse for when it poops out. Also the MX700 requires a wall wart that's one more cord under your desk. On the PC we have the logitech cordless keyboard, but unfortunately the MX700 won't work the cordless keyboard receiver like the other mice from logitech, so you have to have two receivers to use w/ logitech.
