Mac fish?

in General Discussion edited January 2014
I read an article in the New York Times about the Jesus fish(boo) and the Darwin fish(yea), but then I relised that us mac fanatics need a fish too. So I propose an Apple fish. The only problem is that alot of people won't get it. What do youall think?

At least the Jesus fish was original. Why the boo? The Darwinians just copied the Icthus because they have no originality.

You get two with every new Mac purchase. You stick them on your rear window.

    They look like... Apples.

Well, OS X's core is Darwin, so we kind of already have a fish...

But Apple isn't a religion, so why a fish? How about a marmot? Now there is a real animal.

Did you know that the only US Holiday to be named after an animal is named after a Marmot? Groundhog's Day

ok, Jesus is the reason life is worth living man, no need to boo..

    also, nice big lebowski quote.

    furthermore, darwinism isn't a religion..

well if you define a religion as a system of beliefs that requires an amount of faith to complete (as i do) then darwinism certainly is a religion... as is any system of beliefs which requires the believer to..well... believe anything. The only system of thought I know of that wouldnt be a religion would be something like agnosticism (sp?) since it says everything is fine and doesn't really 'require' a belief of any sort... Oh well - a little off topic I suppose.

The other day I saw a cute one. It was a big Jesus fish eating a Darwin fish On a more serious note, you shouldn't knock someone for their religion or lack of it.

Next person to argue religion in this thread gets the credit for having this thread locked.

No way anyone is going to discuss freakin' religion in one of MY forums. Take that stuff to AO please.

Agnosticism is more the standpoint that the individual accepts the fact that he does not know whether or not there is a creator. It most certainly does not mean everything is fine... it just means that we haven't really seen or 'felt' anything to make us believe one way or the other. I know agnostics who grew up going to Church, but it still doesn't convince them. I'm an Agnostic, and I really *want* to believe. Technically, however, a true Agnostic's standpoint is that there is no God, but were there evidence brought forth that would prove the existence of one, one would believe in a God.

But theseI guess aren't religions by dictionary definition. They're creationist theories.

Umm, murbot, one of your fellow mods talked about religion. He talked about religion. He gets the thread locked. He gets the thread locked.

ah, but I merely talked about religion. I chose not to argue religion, which was the basis for locking the thread

Besides, I have moderator immunity. It's like diplomatic immunity, but it only applies to this internet messageboard. Yeah, it's one of the many perks...
