Are the "no new threads" folder icons working?
If I go and read a thread, then come back to it later, shouldn't it change color to show that there have been NO new posts (if indeed there are no new posts to that thread)?
Look at the folder icons key at the bottom of the forum screens....is this working properly?
Maybe it means that you have to physically log out then log back in for that to work....that may be it.
