Calendar search on iPhone and iPads don't go as far back as on MacBooks

Why can one not search back a year ago on Calendar using an iPhone or iPad when one can on a MacBook Pro? If the Calendar dates are synced and info is there then one can find it manually but a search will not show it if it was from 6 months or older. Can Apple please fix this?
