New Hard drive: SW restore, or re-install?
I just added a new hard rive to my G4. I'm hoping this will solve my problems, which appeared to be disk related. My question: Do I get any advantage by re-installing all of my old software instead of doing a simple restore from my Retrospect back-up?
What about the system folder? I know a clean install is recommended, but I just did one a month ago on the old drive (it didn't solve my problems, nor did using Disk Warrior, although I did get some immediate relief-it just didn't last) Suppose I just replace the finder, system resources and system suitcase with virgin versions I had saved at the time of the clean install?
