Use Windows? you mad?!?!
I am using my brothers windows pc that he recently built to be a gaming/hobby machine. He wants to mod it and overclock and do all that stuff, but right now its a gaming machine. Its running windows XP professional and it flys when playing games. There are some neat little features in XP, And while using this computer with our brand new cable modem I have been very impressed. Almost every time I sit down with a Windows based pc, I think to myself "hmmm, maybe macs really aren't all they are cracked up to be, windows definatly has some nifty things, etc. etc. etc." and so far the amount of times I've gone into using windows open-minded, and as unbiased as I can I end up nearly throwing the keyboard out the window in frustration.
Installation, who ever designed windows installers should be fired and never allowed to work again Ironically the only installer that worked perfectly with no hassle was Quicktime 6
Deinstallers, I can't stand deinstallation programs, fundamentally its a great idea, one program that removes all traces of another program ever existing on your HD...but in practice, its so inefficient. which brings me to my next topic of disgust
File managment, This is the worst, the windows explorer is pretty cool I admit, but no nifty browser can make up for the shoddy file managment systems. If I accidentally install a program into the default folder, in order to move it I need to somehow reassociate all the related files that embedded themselves into the directory and registry...wtf is that? then when I try to uninstall to start over again, I can't because I moved the file and it can't locate the uninstall.txt
basically, once you have everything set the way you want it, and all your little shortcuts are in place, and you don't install much new software, windows is a perfectly acceptable operating system......for me to poop on!
Just thought I'd vent.
p.s. am I the only one that finds it ironic that this OS is called "windows" when the focus of the OS is to condense everything into one window at a time?

heh..I'm still running on a DVSE 500 iMac...until I upgrade my computer I will remain on os9( I only have 128 megs of ram anyway)

Besides for your lack of RAM, why won't you use OS X?
1. When I shut it down...it freezes. So I have to shut it off with the surge protector. No, the power switch don't work.
2. It has been giving me that white & black Windows 3.1 crash window...so I wanted to scandisc and defrag it.
3. Scandisc and Defrag would only finish if I was in Safe Mode...when is it safe anyway?
4. Icons...I've seen some strange shit where the icons of one application take over another...
5. And lastly (there's PLENTY more but I'll save the bandwidth), Windows is a vaccum for internet spyware and web shit. I'm amazed that I haven't seen "HELLO, MY NAM3 IZ MAXXORITE I NOW HAVE CONTROL OVER YOUR PCEE, GO HOM3!
And everytime I come home to my Mac...I kiss it.

I don't want to buy it
When I get my new computer with OS X installed I will use it, sure. but right now I'm not going to go out of my way, when 9.1 works perfectly fine for me.
