    I don't think so. The guy was a thief, got caught, and is now bitching about it. The rest is the usual Linux will overtake Microsoft pipedream.

    Perhaps, but a survey found that 40% of enterprise customers are actively searching for alternatives to MS. It might have been a violation of the shrink-wrap license to install one copy of Office on 8 PCs, but that doesn't legitimize the BSA's extortionist tactics, and it doesn't mean there isn't a good reason to find software with more liberal licensing terms.



    One major boo-boo in that article: "Open-source software resides in the public domain, unlike Microsoft's proprietary software." I'm sure most open-source authors - including, say, Apple - would be shocked and amazed to discover that their software was in the public domain.
