They said 'duh, old news'. This isn't released yet, and may or may not be the next 'standard zip'. They guy I spoke with said that they cost almost twice as much. What for? Can you say OPTICAL drive?
Anyway, long and short, this french site is full of $hit, they are the same folks with the 'new mac' pictures. They just LOVE all the millions of hit's we are generating.
EDIT: Here is a rough translation too
"Iomega: new reader ZIP 750 Mo!!! Out of early product, we annoncons you the availability as of the beginning of August 2002 of a new reader Iomega ZIP 750 Mo, able to read and write news cartridges ZIP of 750 Mo but also of reading and writing cartridges ZIP of 250 Mo. The reader of cartridges ZIP of 100 Mo is possible, but not the writing. This new reader will be available August beginning in version USB 2.0 and at the beginning of September in FireWire version. The prices and other information are already available here! "

Everyone can read a CD-R/RW and they are cheap cheap.
I think I have used my Zip 250 maybe twice ...and then just to open old Z100 items.
All my clients send me Cd's any more.
50mb over a CD-R is probably not worth the cash.
Time will tell.
