Is there any story of anyone who has written and put together or self published their book on a Powerbook?

Or how about a story of people who have written films on their Powerbooks?

Or how about anyone who has built their websites on the Powerbook?

I just know that when I get one I'll be creating like a madman.....

I know someone who found the Japanese sub I-52 on a powerbook (or at least did a significant amount of the analysis to find it), by a pool in Florida. Does that count?

edit: it was an old powerbook, too.

Recently, there was a PowerBook 3400 on eBay that used to be used by some guy associated with the production of Star Trek Voyager. I have no idea how he was related to Voyager, other than that he was somehow important... anyway, it ended up going for a few hundred more than most 3400s go for.

My Powerbook was a big help in college, with all the group projects we had to do. Instead of all of us cramming into someone's dorm room, or having to be really quiet in the computer lab, we would just take the laptop into a meeting room in the library and do our powerpoints, papers, etc.

It was actually pretty nice, too, when we got the meeting rooms with the TVs, because I'd hook up the video out to the screen so all the group members could see what I was doing, typing, etc.

Then, instead of having to rely on the crappy machine that the department had on the movable projector cart, I'd just hook up my laptop instead, and we never had any problems.

Outside of that, I've designed entire web sites on my Powerbook, edited daily videos for a youth camp I'm staff at, and accomplished other cool stuff.

Next Mac I get, though, will most likely be a desktop. You get more for the money, and I don't really need the portability now that I'm out of school.

Since September, I've just written college term papers on my PowerBook G4. What's great about the 15.2 inch widescreen is that you can easily fit two Microsoft Word documents on the screen. Amazing computer for productivity I guess. Sometimes I would halve the size of documents to fit four on the screen. That's great for writing from many sources. You can do that on a PowerBook G4. Of course you could take it anywhere you want, too. So my PowerBook helped me to get a 3.9 last semester and will help to get a 4.0 this semester.

    Next.

What else have I accomplished? Together with my Canon PowerShot s200 digital camera, I was able to relive memories only moments after having them, and then again and again without the traditional delay of film processing. Using iPhoto, I organized recent photos from a ski trip to Stowe, Vermont, ordered 5x7's, and emailed photos to friends. They really liked the one of a faceplant in the snow.

I thought that was just standard practice with a Powerbook. What, is that unusual?

It's a fun routine, though: Once a week is the abduction, poking, prodding, anal probe, and then hacking the ship with my Powerbook!
