Oh, yeah! APPLE did it first.
The new inspiron lines are insanely ugly. That's about all that comes to mind right now.

Not to mention they use ancient legacy ports (serial, parallel.) You'd think an "innovator" such as Dell would have done away with them. Apple seems to be doing GREAT without these crummy ports. And yeah, the Inspirons are no eye-candy by any means.
Chill out man.
Well, Dell does bring out the worst in people...

That's a pretty tight screen.
kittylitterdesign would have a fit with this machine.

first, how the hell are you supposed to read anything on a screen that's 15" and 1920x1200.
second, anyone look at the specs on the graphics cards for those laptops? the specs say they max out at 1600x1200.
odds are that it really will support the res. but it's funny that it's listed on their site as only supporting 1600x1200
The thing rang it at a whopping $3200!! That doesn't include their 99$ shipping charge.
No firewire, no DVD-R, not even USB 2. I added in a Dell MovieMaker package. Added in a WiFi card, but no bluetooth (you could only pick one or the other). Upgraded to XP Pro. Got the firewall/virus bundle thingy.
And boy is it ugly.
Anyone who gets one of these for more money than a 15.1" Ti or the same money as a 17" needs their heads examined.
Unless the poor bastard has a job where they can't use a Mac (in which case they should still probably have their heads examined).
I went ahead and priced one of these ugly bastards...just to see, ya know.

I configured one as closely to an TiBook as possible, meaning the lower res screen, no Office, yes Image Expert Premium or whatever it was, 2 256 MB dimms, 40 GB HDD, 2 GHz P4, Radeon 9000 instead of the much faster GeForce 4200Go. XP Pro, etc. It came out to be around $2500. The TiBook was around $2400. The TiBook has FireWire, Gigabit, DVI, the eight advantage. The P4 had processing power, screen res, 802.11g, etc.
I'd call it even on specs, but it's truly fugly.
