Alongside iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS update releases on Monday, Apple has made available the tenth beta of macOS Catalina.

The latest macOS Catalina beta released a week after the last one appears focused on bug eradication. There are no new features highlighted or obvious versus beta 9.

Both AppleInsider and Apple itself strongly recommend users don't install the betas on to "mission-critical" or primary devices, as there is the remote possibility of data loss or other issues even at this late date for Catalina. Instead, testers should install betas onto secondary or non-essential devices, and to make sure there are sufficient backups of important data before updating.

Find any changes in the new betas? Reach out to us on Twitter at @AppleInsider or @Andrew_OSU, or send Andrew an email at [email protected].

Update: Apple has issued a public beta version of the latest Catalina release.

Still no mention of the Oct 4 “event” circulating the Apple rumor mills.

Public Beta 9 was available for me to download just now; 1:31PM PST. It's a 4.99GB download.

That was shown to be a translation area on the Dutch version of the Apple Catalina site in the Apple Arcade section - if you look at the English version of the Apple.com Catalina site in the Apple Arcade section, there is a footnote following "October" that is "4", and it got shifted up to October 4 during the Dutch translation.  The footnote for "4" reads:

"Apple Arcade and Apple TV+ require a subscription. Apple Arcade is now available on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV and will be available on Mac this fall."

There is no way it's coming out this Friday.  Putting aside the fact that it's an odd-time for a major macOS release, there's still some broken things that need fixing and testing, and it would be crazy for them to release Catalina on Friday, without at least another beta.
