Email notifications gone!?

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but The Blue Meanie no longer appears to be receiving email notifications of responses to his topics - despite (obviously) selecting this option when the topic was first composed. The last one to date arrived on the 11th....

Also experiencing occasional login problems, where the boards suddenly insist every few days that The Blue Meanie logs in manually by typing out his name and password, rather than allowing the usual automatic login (presumably) via cookie.

Any idea what's happening? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

    Dear Blue Meanie,

it's cuz the damn thing is broken!!!

    Sincerely,

    Mac's Girl

ok ok...the long story is that I spent 2 weeks being locked out of A.I. since i had to re-enter my password all of a sudden...and i didnt remember what it was. i couldnt even get it mailed to me. i had no idea why, and i thought i was banned for something...ha! i tried to make a new account but the password never came for that either. finally, i emailed another member and he told me how to contact the admins without using email. jonathan (the admin) said the email was down. he also said he would tell them to work on getting it fixed, but who knows how long that will take. oh well.

Thanks Mac's Girl, The Blue Meanie appreciates the info.

Any of the admins care to elaborate? Jonathan?

Yeah, there's something wrong with the mail server... but the MacNN people don't believe it because it works for them...

sigh. whatever. I don't even know what's going on with this anymore.

i'm really really sorry about this.

    Does it work now?

(BTW, to clarify what Jonathan said, I didn't think there was anything wrong with it because MacNN Forums have been fine (afaik), and they're on the same server.)

    It certainly SHOULD work now...

I tried getting my password for my real account (this one is for posting that AI is horked) last night and it did not work. However, when I tried it for this account it did work. Maybe it has something to do with the account and mail per se.

BTW, this corresponded with my sudden inability to post yesterday. I know the password is correct because I use Mozilla to save it and I have it in my password manager. Nevertheless, I can't login with it and AI mail won't send it to me either.
